It is with our five senses: taste, smell, touch, sight and sound, that we know the world.  Sight and hearing are our primary senses. We wouldn't know if a person can't taste or smell, unless they tell us.

She Said... examines communication in the absence of sight and hearing.

It is one chapter of Exploration of the Senses, an ongoing project by Anna Gustafson that investigates how each sense on it's own and in combination, contributes to our knowledge base and our ability to communicate.
